Corporate events in Beijing: Temple Restaurant Beijing

By: Mei | Categories: Culture, News You Can Use

Looking for a special event space in Beijing? Need to really WOW your guests? When WildChina has a client that is looking for an extra special location, we look no further than The Temple Beijing for an incredible evening. A guaranteed success, full of style and fantastic service.

Opened in Summer 2011, Temple Restaurant Beijing serves contemporary European cuisine and is committed to providing the highest levels of service for their guests. The history of the Temple Restaurant Beijing compound spans 600 years: it includes ancient halls of worship, factories constructed after the Communist takeover and slogans left over from the Cultural Revolution. Renovation began in 2008, focused on preserving all the layers of history and keeping as much as possible of the original structures.

Veronique d’Antras, the Director of Leisure at WildChina, enjoys going to The Temple for three reasons: “Simplicity, Elegance and Excellent Food.” With food choices ranging from Norwegian salmon and confit of suckling pig, you know you are in for a real culinary experience.  Veronique also appreciates that the preservation process was done so carefully. She feels, “When you walk into the venue, you feel that not that much has changed in 600 years– they have done a beautiful job of keeping a traditional feeling.”

Interested in other outstanding restaurants in Beijing? Also consider booking into Capital M, which overlooks Tiananmen Square or Susu, a fantastic Vietnamese restaurant

Mission Macau: Highest Bungee Jump in the World

By: Mei | Categories: Culture, News You Can Use

Have you ever wanted to experience free fall from the highest bungee jump in the world?  If the answer is ‘YES’, then consider taking the plunge from the Macau Tower, which rises to a whopping height of 233 meters (764 feet).  This massive needle rises up from a coastline amid countless casinos and quaint, European architecture and is just an hour ferry ride away from Hong Kong.

What goes up...

The rush of gushing wind and literal leap of faith is incredibly thrilling, and in our opinion, completely worth the muster of courage.  We’d definitely recommend, though, going with a solid cheerleader or even using this activity as a team-building event with your colleagues or classmates. To calm your quickening heartbeats and those sweaty palms, the bungee is completely safe, and the company does have a perfect track record.

If bungee jumping isn’t your cup of tea, you can also opt for a meander along the outside of the tower for a quick gaze or climb up the mast to 338 meters (1,109 feet). Whatever the pursuit, you will have an unparalleled view of Macau that’s impossible to top:

...must come down.

International Consulting Firm visits Beijing

By: Mei | Categories: Culture, News You Can Use

Last week the WildChina team played host to a group of about 150 from an international consulting firm at the China Club, an exclusive club located close to Tiananmen Square decorated in the traditional Chinese style. Setup took several dedicated staff most of the day, and a few hours prior they were also joined by the full group, who continued to reconfigure the space into a polished vision of oriental style.

The entrance to the China Club

Guests from the firm began to arrive at 6:30pm for a cocktail reception in a courtyard beautifully lit by the falling sun. WildChina staff meanwhile made sure that the guest flow moved smoothly, directing guests to reception, coat-check, and the cocktail area. Guests were soon directed to the main dining area for dinner service, where China Club employees served a multi-course meal of high-scale Chinese offerings.

Banquet seating awaited the guests after cocktails

Meanwhile, we reconfigured the two courtyard areas for post-dinner activities. Desert tables, seating areas, and tea-masters appeared. Guests also had the option to remain inside after dinner, moving to bar seating or receiving foot massages. At any moment, our staff were on hand to answer client questions or simply streamline the party process.

As the event wound to a close, guests were directed to their transport, and on the way they were gifted with special custom scrolls, painted by a calligrapher with the mission statement of the company. Concluding with a group cleanup, WildChina staffers returned home at around midnight, getting well-deserved rest until the next day at work. Business as usual.
