Passports & Visas
It is your sole responsibility to obtain and have available when necessary the appropriate valid travel documents. Nearly all foreign visitors to China will need a tourist "L" visa. Please get your visa at least 2 months before trip departure to avoid logistical problems. Please also make sure that your passports is valid for six (6) months after the return of your journey and have sufficient blank visa pages for entry and exit stamps. Though WildChina paperwork is not required to obtain your visa, WildChina is happy to provide an itinerary of your trip ahead of time if necessary. You will receive detailed Visa information in your Preparing for Your China Trip booklet upon confirmation.
International airfare (to the journey starting point and from the ending point) is not included in tour pricing. All local transport, including domestic flights, are included. All internal air is based on economy class seating and is 100% non-refundable at time of final payment (some exceptions may apply). All air carriers are independent contractors and are not owned, managed, controlled or operated by WildChina. Your airline ticket constitutes a contract between yourself and the airlines (and not WildChina). WildChina is not liable for, and does not assume responsibility or accept claims with regard to, seat assignments, name changes, schedule changes, flight changes and/or cancellations. Should you change or cancel your air transportation arrangements before or after your travel begins, all airline change and cancellation fees will apply.
The luggage limit is 20 kg (~44 lbs) per person for economy-class flights. Baggage and personal effects are at the owner's risk throughout the travel program, and WildChina assumes no liability for lost or damaged baggage. Please check with your international carrier for other baggage restrictions and fees applicable to your international flights.
Health & Safety
It's recommended that you visit your physician for a pre-trip check-up. If you have a pre-existing condition, such as diabetes, high blood pressure, heart/lung disease or a nervous disorder, it is advisable to check with your physician that it's possible to participate in all activities during your journey. All travelers should bring a sufficient supply of any necessary prescription medicines, in their original containers and with clear labels; refills can be difficult to obtain, or even unavailable in the areas we visit.
On trips with altitudes above 2,700 meters (8,858 feet) some travelers may experience Acute Mountain Sickness (AMS), resulting in headache, nausea, fatigue and loss of appetite. After plenty of rest, symptoms usually subside. In rare cases, at much higher altitudes, there can be more severe complications relating to altitude. WildChina itineraries are planned so that travelers have plenty of time to adjust to the altitude in order to ensure they can fully enjoy their trip.
If you decide to participate in any activities including, but not limited to, any excursions involving animals, riding on animals, scuba diving, snorkeling, hot air ballooning, ziplining, high altitude treks, climbing, whitewater rafting, primate tracking and any activity which WildChina considers to carry inherent risk of serious illness, injury or death ("Activities") then you fully understand and acknowledge that Activities carry with them various inherent risks, including serious illness, injury or death and you take complete responsibility for your own health and safety and agree to assume all risks of injury, illness or death, whether foreseen or unforeseen, that may befall you as a result of participating in any Activities and agree to release WildChina and its affiliates, their agents, employees and representatives from any liability whatsoever related thereto.
Further, as consideration for being permitted to participate in the Activities; you release WildChina, whether known or unknown, from, and agree not to sue or make claim against WildChina for, property damage, cancellation of any Activities for any reason, illness, negligent rescue operations or procedures, personal injury, or death arising out of your participation in the Activities, and any activity related thereto, including transportation to and from the site of the Activities, regardless of whether such property damage, illness, personal injury, or death results from the negligence of WildChina (but not its reckless, willful, or fraudulent conduct), and/or from any defect in equipment. You further agree to indemnify and hold WildChina harmless with respect to any claim made against WildChina by anyone else which (a) related to your participation, or (b) which would be subject to the above release and covenant not to sue if you had made the claim directly yourself.
All guests traveling with WildChina for longer than 24 hours are required to provide a copy of their medical insurance card prior to trip departure. Please scan and email the copy to the WildChina staff assisting you.
More comprehensive travel insurance, including coverage of lost luggage and trip cancellation, is optional though highly encouraged. WildChina can recommend the insurance packages provided by Travel Guard and the emergency evacuation policy offered by International SOS.
We have various levels of hiking and trekking journeys. Some are short 1-2 hour hikes while others are 3-5 day treks. Please refer to our itinerary descriptions for more information. We tailor the journey to fit the needs of the client and can adjust the hikes accordingly.
Some active elements have been incorporated into select itineraries. To enjoy the trips as intended, a minimum level of fitness is required. WildChina will require prior notice if any participant has any physical or other condition or disability that would prevent them from participating in active elements of any trip and/or could create a hazard to him or herself or to other members of the group. The guest represents that neither he nor she nor anyone travelling with him or her has any physical or other condition or disability that could create a hazard to himself or herself or other members of the tour. WildChina reserves the right to decline acceptance of anyone whom it considers unsuitable due to fitness level. WildChina also reserves the right to remove from the trip, at the participant's own expense, anyone whose physical condition or conduct negatively impacts the enjoyment of the other guests or disrupts the tour.
It is safe to drink bottled mineral water, but tap water, even in 5-star hotels, is not safe for drinking. WildChina will provide bottled water, tea and snacks throughout your journey.
We request guests with severe allergies to consult their physicians prior to traveling and to bring all necessary medicines with them. Guests should inform WildChina ahead of time of specific allergies to peanuts, fish, etc., or sensitivities to MSG, so that we can plan accordingly.
