What we love

  • Practicing our Mandarin as we make crafts with the residents at Huiling Community Center
  • Contributing some 'sweat equity' to the Miao people by working in the fields alongside community farmers
  • Designing a recycle receptor and trash incinerator for a rural community in Guangxi

Basic Itinerary

About This Trip

Pack up your backpacks and get ready for a summer camp like no other. On this educational adventure, you will travel across the far reaches of the Middle Kingdom from the Great Wall, where you'll learn to cook regional delicacies with a local farmer, to rural Guangxi, where you'll advance your Mandarin skills learning to fish in the local style. This summer camp is not just about what you'll gain but also what you'll give. You'll make a meaningful impact in every community you visit, designing and building infrastructure projects in small villages and farming side-by-side with ethnic minorities.

Tour Reviews

All the staff with us on the trip were excellent - we felt like we were in very safe hands!

British School of Beijing, Elementary School, Mar 2018

A huge thank you to all the staff, they were incredible!

International Middle School - Beijing, China, May 2016

We were pleased with the professional attitude of all, from the first contact to the guides in each city. I want to give special kudos to Mei Zhang, Maynard Zhang and Jasmine Zhai. The customer-oriented culture of the company is a tribute to Mei's leadership and vision for WildChina and how every person interacts with clients. Maynard was also helpful as the local US representative to make sure that our program interests were shared with the staff in China. Jasmine was terrific in making our arrangements, always answering our questions promptly and addressing issues during the actual program.
